poppy treffry has arrived!

long time shoppers and readers will know that we love our british designers! poppy treffry is no exception, and we are excited to have some of her goods in the shop. poppy got her start sewing on an old singer that her grandfather found on a trash heap, and in 2003 poppy treffry became a company in its own right. we picked up a selection of bags (with bicycles, birds, pugs, and dachshunds), tea towels, and cards. come see!

bunnylopes for all!

we just replenished our bunnylope supply from dandylion press! maia hand draws all of her designs and then letterpresses them in san francisco. each bunnylope card comes complete with information regarding the particular breed featured. for example, did you know that wild southwestern bunnylopes learn to sing at a young age? these are all good things to know about this elusive creature...

and for good measure we threw in some rabbits, chicks, and...a lemur.

they have done it-again

"the great lakes was founded in 2007 by rose lazar as a way to continue doing what she loves, printmaking. it all starts with an inspired phrase and then things get popping. influenced by fleetwood mac, charley harper, rob ryan, louise bourgeois, 50 cent, the shakers, campfires, simon and garfunkel, tina fey, massive amounts of candy, nature and nurture (equally), ms. josephine, sweet romance and good ole fashioned nostalgia."

i can't say enough how much the great lakes cards speak to a part of me that no other card line ever has. it may be that they too, are fond of neil young, or that their sentiments are captured both simply and cleverly. whatever the reasons, they are original and i love them.
